Karate è stata una band indie jazz americana formatasi a Boston nel 1993 da Geoff Farina, Eamonn Vitt e Gavin McCarthy. Nel 1995 si unì al gruppo Jeff Goddard come bassista, mentre Vitt passò alla chitarra ritmica. Nel 1997 Vitt lasciò Karate per dedicarsi alla carriera medica.
