Years and Years ist ein britisches Musikprojekt, das vom Sänger Olly Alexander gegründet wurde. Ursprünglich als Band konzipiert, entwickelte sich der Sound zu einer Fusion aus Electropop, R and B und Einflüssen des House-Musics der 1990er Jahre, mit Spuren von Künstlern wie Flying Lotus, Diplo, Radiohead, Jai Paul und Jamiroquai. Das Debüt des Projekts fand 2013 mit dem Single «Shine» statt, gefolgt vom gleichnamigen Debütalbum im Jahr 2015. Das Album war ein großer Erfolg, erreichte Platz eins der britischen Charts und erhielt Platin-Zertifizierungen in mehreren Ländern. Alexander ist bekannt für seine theatralischen und charismatischen Auftritte, die dazu beigetragen haben, Years and Years zu einer der innovativsten und meistgepriesenen Bands der heutigen Musikszene zu machen. Zu den repräsentativen Stücken gehören «King», «Desire» und «Sanctify». 2018 kündigte Alexander eine Pause des Projekts an, um sich neuen musikalischen Projekten zu widmen. Im Jahr 2021 kehrte er mit einem neuen Soloalbum namens «Heart of Glass» zurück, das einen stilistischen Wandel hin zu elektronischeren und introvertierteren Klängen markierte.
