Sananda Maitreya, all'anagrafe Terence Trent Howard, è un cantautore e polistrumentista statunitense nato nel 1962. Noto al grande pubblico come Terence Trent D'Arby, ha raggiunto la fama negli anni '80 con il suo stile musicale che fonde soul, funk, jazz e rock. Il suo album di debutto, *Introducing the Hardest Working Man in Show Business*, pubblicato nel 1987, è stato un successo internazionale, grazie a brani come "Sign Your Name" e "Wishing Well".
