Stratovarius ist eine finnische Power-Metal-Band, die 1984 in Helsinki von Tuomo Lassila (Schlagzeug), Staffan Stråhlman (Gitarre) und John Vihervä (Bass) gegründet wurde. Die Formation, die internationalen Erfolg erreichte, bestand aus Timo Tolkki an der Gitarre, Timo Kotipelto am Gesang, Jens Johansson am Keyboard, Jari Kainulainen am Bass und Jörg Michael am Schlagzeug.
