Hanson ist eine amerikanische Pop-Rock-Band, die von den Brüdern Isaac (Gitarre), Taylor (Keyboard) und Zac Hanson (Schlagzeug) gegründet wurde. Nach dem Release zweier unabhängiger Alben, *Boomerang* (1995) und *MMMBop* (1996), unterschrieben sie bei Mercury Records. 1997 veröffentlichten sie ihr Debütalbum für das Label, *Middle of Nowhere*, als der jüngste Bruder erst 11 Jahre alt war. Das Album enthielt Songs aus ihren vorherigen Alben sowie neue Stücke, darunter der weltweite Hit-Single "MMMBop", der in fast jedem Land, in dem er veröffentlicht wurde, die Charts anführte. Dies trug dazu bei, dass *Middle of Nowhere* Platinstatus erreichte. Ihr Folgealbum, *This Time Around*, konnte den Erfolg des vorherigen Albums nicht wiederholen.
