Michele Caparezza, geboren 1973 in Molfetta, ist ein italienischer Singer-Songwriter und Rapper, der für seinen originellen Musikstil und oft ironische und provokante Texte bekannt ist. Sohn einer Lehrerin und eines Musikerarbeiters begann er schon als Kind Lieder zu schreiben. Nach dem Studium der Buchhaltung und Werbung gab er seine akademische Karriere auf, um sich ganz der Musik zu widmen. Anfangs trat er als Rapper unter dem Namen Mikimix auf und nahm an Musikfestivals wie Castrocaro und Sanremo Giovani teil. 1997 veröffentlichte er sein erstes Album *La mia buona stella*, doch erst 2000 mit dem Album *?!* unter dem Namen Caparezza (was im Molfettesischen „kräuzige Kopf“ bedeutet) erlangte er größere Bekanntheit. Das Album *Verità supposte* aus dem Jahr 2003 machte ihn zum erfolgreichen Künstler, dank Songs wie *Fuori dal tunnel*, einem Sommerhit, der aufgrund seiner ironischen Interpretation des Nachtlebens in Diskussion geriet.
