Dean Martin, geboren als Dino Paul Crocetti am 7. Juni 1917 in Steubenville, Ohio, war ein US-amerikanischer Sänger, Schauspieler und Komiker italo-amerikanischer Herkunft. Der Sohn italienischer Einwanderer aus Montesilvano, Abruzzen, begann seine musikalische Karriere in den Clubs von New York in den 1940er Jahren und nahm den Künstlernamen Dean Martin an, inspiriert vom Tenor Nino Martini. 1946 bildete er ein Komikerduo mit Jerry Lewis, das zu einem der beliebtesten und erfolgreichsten der Geschichte des Entertainments wurde.
