Story of the Year ist eine amerikanische Rockband, die 1995 in St. Louis, Missouri gegründet wurde. Ursprünglich nannten sie sich 67 North, später änderten sie ihren Namen in Big Blue Monkey, bevor sie sich 2002 nach der Veröffentlichung ihrer gleichnamigen EP auf dem Independent-Label Criterion Records in Story of the Year umbenannten. Sie wählten diesen Namen, nachdem sie festgestellt hatten, dass bereits eine Bluesband unter diesem Namen existierte.
