Platinum Weird ist ein Musikprojekt aus dem Jahr 2005 des schottischen Musikers David A. Stewart und der amerikanischen Sängerin Kara DioGuardi. Ihr Debütalbum wurde als Wiederentdeckung einer Aufnahme aus dem Jahr 1974 einer fiktiven Band, Platinum Weird, beworben, angeführt von der fiktiven Songwriterin Erin Grace, die angeblich unter mysteriösen Umständen kurz vor dem Erfolg verschwand. Das Projekt fand dank seiner Originalität und nostalgischen Atmosphäre mäßigen Erfolg. Zu den bekanntesten Stücken gehören "The Ballad of Erin Grace", "I Want You" und "Love Is a Battlefield".
