Biografia

Peaches ist das Musikprojekt von Merrill Nisker, einer kanadischen Sängerin, Songwriterin und Produzentin. Aktiv seit 1990, erlangte Peaches internationale Bekanntheit für ihre experimentelle elektronische Musik, die sich durch provokante Texte und mutige theatralische Auftritte auszeichnet. Nisker, in Kanada geboren aber in Vancouver aufgewachsen, begann ihre musikalische Karriere in den 1980er Jahren mit Punk-Rock-Bands. 1990 gründete sie das Projekt Peaches und veröffentlichte 1997 ihr Debütalbum "The Teaches of Peaches". Das Album war ein kritischer Erfolg und stellte dem Publikum einen einzigartigen Musikstil vor, der Elemente von Techno, House, Pop und Rock mit oft expliziten und ironischen Texten verband. Peaches ist bekannt für ihre energiegeladenen und provokanten Auftritte, die durch auffällige Kostüme und gewagte Choreografien geprägt sind. Ihre Musik hat Generationen elektronischer Künstler beeinflusst und zur Definition des Sounds der Underground-Musik der 1990er und 2000er Jahre beigetragen. Zu ihren bekanntesten Songs gehören "Fuck the Pain Away", "Boys Wanna Be My Lover" und "I Feel Cream".
