The xx sono un gruppo musicale britannico formatosi a Londra nel 2005. Composto da Romy Madley Croft (voce, chitarra), Oliver Sim (basso, voce) e Jamie Smith (produzione, elettronica), il trio ha guadagnato fama internazionale per il loro sound minimalista e atmosferico, caratterizzato da melodie semplici ma efficaci, arrangiamenti sottili e testi introspettivi. I membri del gruppo si sono conosciuti all'Elliott School di Londra, una scuola d'arte nota per aver formato artisti come Hot Chip, Burial e Four Tet.
