Alpha è un gruppo musicale britannico di genere trip hop/electronica formatosi nel 1995 a Bristol. I membri fondatori sono Corin Dingley, Wendy Stubbs (voce e testi) e Hannah Collins; Andy Jenks, altro membro fondatore, ha lasciato il gruppo prima dell'uscita del loro album del 2007 "The Sky Is Mine". Inizialmente operavano sotto il nome di "Ariel", il duo composto da Dingley e Jenks si è unito dopo aver lavorato su diversi progetti nella stessa città di Bristol, nota per essere la culla di gruppi trip hop come Massive Attack e Portishead. Come Massive Attack, Alpha ha reclutato cantanti per aggiungere voci alle loro composizioni downtempo e beat-driven degli anni '90, portandoli a essere classificati come "Post Trip-Hop". Il loro album di debutto "ComeFromHeaven" è stato il primo rilascio sul Melankolic label di Massive Attack nel 1997. Attualmente sono su Don't Touch Recordings, un'etichetta fondata da loro stessi. Il loro ultimo lavoro è una collaborazione con l'icona reggae Horace Andy intitolata 'Two-Phazed People', uscita ad agosto 2009.
