Delbert McClinton ist ein amerikanischer Sänger, Musiker und Songwriter, geboren am 4. November 1940 in Lubbock, Texas. Als einer der wichtigsten Vertreter des modernen Blues Rock hat McClinton eine über fünf Jahrzehnte lange Karriere aufgebaut. Nach Anfängen mit verschiedenen lokalen Bands zog es ihn in die 1960er Jahre nach Nashville, wo er mit Künstlern wie Willie Nelson und Waylon Jennings zusammenarbeitete und zum Entstehen der Outlaw-Country-Bewegung beitrug. 1970 erschien sein selbstbetiteltes Debütalbum, gefolgt von einer Reihe von Hits, die ihn zu einem der größten Blues Rock Interpreten machten.
