In Flames è una band svedese di melodic death metal formatasi a Göteborg nel 1990. Considerati pionieri del suono gothenborghese, insieme ad altri gruppi come Dark Tranquillity e At the Gates, hanno contribuito a definire questo genere musicale caratterizzato da riff heavy, melodie orecchiabili e testi spesso oscuri. Il gruppo ha attraversato diverse fasi evolutive nel corso della sua carriera, passando da sonorità più brutali e underground a un sound più moderno e accessibile al grande pubblico.
