Biografia

The Cat Empire ist eine australische Band aus Melbourne, die für ihren vielseitigen Stil bekannt ist, der Elemente von Jazz, Ska, Funk und Weltmusik verbindet. Gegründet 1999 besteht die Gruppe aus Felix Riebl (Percussion und Gesang), Harry James Angus (Trompete und Gesang), Ollie McGill (Keyboard und Backing Vocals), Ryan Monro (Bass und Backing Vocals), Will Hull-Brown (Schlagzeug) und Jamshid "Jumps" Khadiwhala (Turntables, Percussion). Oftmals arbeiten sie mit den Empire Horns, einem Blechbläserduo, zusammen und haben wiederkehrende Gastmusiker. The Cat Empire ist für seine energiegeladenen Live-Auftritte bekannt und hat mehrere erfolgreiche Alben veröffentlicht, darunter "Two Shoes" (2003), "The Cat Empire" (2006) und "Steal the Light" (2013). Zu den bekanntesten Songs gehören "Hello", "The Chariot", "Sly" und "Brighter Than Gold".
