Billie Joe Armstrong (geboren am 17. Februar 1972) ist ein amerikanischer Sänger, Songwriter, Gitarrist und Bandleader, vor allem bekannt als Frontmann der Punk-Rock-Band Green Day. In Oakland, Kalifornien geboren, begann Armstrong im Alter von zehn Jahren Gitarre zu spielen und bildete in seiner Jugend seine ersten Bands. 1987 gründete er mit Mike Dirnt und Tré Cool die Green Day und erreichte schnell internationalen Erfolg mit Alben wie "Dookie" (1994) und "American Idiot" (2004).
