Misery Index ist eine amerikanische Deathgrind-Band, die 2001 in Baltimore, Maryland, gegründet wurde. Die Gründer waren Jason Netherton (Gesang und Bass), Mike Harrison (Gesang und Gitarre) und Kevin Talley (Schlagzeug). Seit 2006 besteht die aktuelle Besetzung aus Netherton (Gesang und Bass), Sparky Voyles (Gitarre), Mark Kloeppel (Gesang und Gitarre) und Adam Jarvis (Schlagzeug). Die Band ist bekannt für ihren brutalen und aggressiven Sound, der sich durch schnelle und verzerrte Gitar riffs, unaufhörliche Blast Beats und düstere, provokante Texte auszeichnet. Zu den bekanntesten Stücken gehören "The Killing Floor", "Condemned to Rot" und "Blood and Iron".
