Fuel is an American rock band originally formed in 1989 with the name Small the Joy. By the time they independently released the successful EP Porcelain in 1994, they had changed their name to Fuel. "Shimmer" from the EP became a local radio hit and increased their profile to the point that they were signed by Sony, who released a further EP Hazelton in 1997 and the full length, platinum-selling debut Sunburn the following year.
