Fields of the Nephilim sono una band inglese di gothic rock/gothic metal semi-attiva, formatasi a Stevenage, Hertfordshire nel 1984. La formazione originale comprendeva il vocalist Carl McCoy, il sassofonista Gary Whisker, Tony Pettitt al basso, Paul Wright alla chitarra e Alexander "Nod" Wright alla batteria. Dopo l'uscita dell'EP di debutto *Burning the Fields*, Whisker lasciò la band per essere sostituito da Peter Yates come secondo chitarrista.
