Johnny Reid è un cantautore scozzese naturalizzato canadese, nato il 21 agosto 1974 a Lanark. Si è trasferito in Canada all'età di tredici anni con la famiglia. Dopo aver frequentato l'Università Bishop's a Sherbrooke, Quebec, dove ha conosciuto sua moglie e ha giocato nel team di football universitario, Reid si è dedicato alla musica country. Ha ottenuto diversi successi in classifica in Canada, tra cui il singolo "Kicking Stones", per il quale è stato nominato al Juno Award per la registrazione country dell'anno nel 2008. Ha vinto due volte il premio CCMA come Artista maschile dell'anno (2008 e 2009). Tra i suoi brani più rappresentativi figurano "Kicking Stones", "The Girl Next Door" e "Fire It Up".
