Idlewild è una rock band scozzese formatasi a Glasgow negli anni '90. Inizialmente definiti come un gruppo punk con sonorità angulari ed energiche, nel corso degli anni hanno esplorato nuovi territori musicali, abbracciando melodie più raffinate e atmosfere introspettive. Il loro sound è caratterizzato da riff chitarristici incisivi, testi poetici e una forte componente emotiva.
