Funeral for a Friend ist eine britische Emo-Rock-Band, die 2001 unter dem Namen January Thirst gegründet wurde. Der Name änderte sich mit der Veröffentlichung ihrer ersten EP, *Between Order and Model*, im Jahr 2002. Mit der Veröffentlichung ihrer zweiten EP, *Four Ways To Scream Your Name*, unterschrieb die Band bei Warner Brothers. Als einer der wichtigsten Vertreter des britischen Emo der 2000er Jahre erlangte Funeral for a Friend mit Alben wie *Casually Dressed and Deep in Conversation* (2005) und *Tales Don't Tell Themselves* (2007) großen Erfolg.
