Royal Republic ist eine schwedische Rockband, die 2007 in Malmö gegründet wurde. Das Quartett, bestehend aus Johannes Persson (Gesang), Adam Grahn (Gitarre), Per Andreasson (Bass) und Hannes Eriksson (Schlagzeug), eroberte schnell die Aufmerksamkeit des europäischen Publikums mit ihrem energiegeladenen und eingängigen Sound, der oft mit Bands wie The Hives verglichen wird. Ihr Debütalbum "We Are the Royal", das 2009 veröffentlicht wurde, erzielte einen mäßigen Erfolg, insbesondere in den skandinavischen Ländern.
