The Whitest Boy Alive è un gruppo indie formatosi a Berlino nel 2003 dal cantante norvegese Erlend Øye, già noto per la sua partecipazione al gruppo Kings of Convenience. Il nome del gruppo deriva da una frase pronunciata dal padre di Øye durante l'infanzia. Il sound del gruppo si caratterizza per un mix di indie pop, folk e elettronica, con influenze psichedeliche e atmosfere malinconiche. Tra i brani più rappresentativi figurano "1901", "The Reeling" e "Golden Cage". Dopo una pausa nel 2014, il gruppo si è riformato nel 2017 e nel 2019 con nuove formazioni.
