Car Seat Headrest ist eine amerikanische Indie-Rock-Band, die 2010 gegründet wurde. Das Musikprojekt entstand aus der Idee von Will Toledo, der zunächst unter dem Namen Car Seat Headrest Musik online veröffentlichte. Im Laufe der Jahre entwickelte sich die Besetzung zu einer vollständigen Band mit anderen Musikern. Die Band stammt aus Virginia, zog aber später nach Seattle (Washington). Ihr Sound zeichnet sich durch eingängige Indie-Rock-Melodien und Texte aus, die oft autobiografisch sind und Themen wie Jugend, Einsamkeit und Identitätsfindung behandeln. Zu ihren bekanntesten Songs gehören "Nervous Young Inhumans", "Fill in the Blank" und "Beach Life-In Death". Car Seat Headrest hat mehrere Alben veröffentlicht, darunter das von der Kritik gefeierte Album "Twin Fantasy" (2018), das als Wendepunkt in ihrer Karriere gilt.
