Waltari ist eine finnische Avantgarde-Metal-Band, die seit 1986 aktiv ist. Als Pioniere der symphonischen Metal-Bewegung in Finnland haben sie Elemente klassischer Musik, Elektronik und progressiven Rocks mit Heavy-Metal-Sounds vermischt. Ihr charakteristischer Sound zeichnet sich durch eine düstere und atmosphärische Stimmung, oft introspective und experimentelle Texte sowie die Präsenz von Orchesterinstrumenten und Synthesizern aus. Die Band hat zehn Studioalben veröffentlicht, darunter "The Waltari" (1989), "So Beautiful You're Blind" (1994) und "Radium Age" (2000).
