Deathstars ist eine schwedische Gothic-Metal-Band, die im Januar 2000 in Stockholm gegründet wurde. Bekannt für ihre düsteren, horror-lastigen Texte, pessimistische und misanthropische Gesellschaftskritik, ihr markantes Gesichtsschminken und Bühnenkostüme haben sie drei Studioalben veröffentlicht: *Synthetic Generation* (2003 in Europa und 2004 in Nord- und Südamerika), *Termination Bliss* (2006) und *Night Electric Night* (2009). Deathstars waren als Vorgruppe für Bands wie Korn und Cradle of Filth aufgetreten, die letztere Band war teilweise Inspiration für Deathstars.
