Kim Carnes è una cantautrice e musicista statunitense nata a Phoenix, Arizona, nel 1941. Iniziò la sua carriera negli anni '60 come sessionista per diversi artisti, collaborando con nomi importanti come The Beach Boys e Elvis Presley. Nel 1975 pubblicò il suo primo album in studio, "Movin' On", che segnò l'inizio della sua ascesa nel mondo musicale. Il successo arrivò negli anni '80 con brani come "Bette Davis Eyes" (1981), che raggiunse la vetta delle classifiche americane e le valse un Grammy Award, e "Draw of the Cards" (1982).
