Clan of Xymox è un gruppo musicale darkwave/gothic rock fondato a Nijmegen, nei Paesi Bassi, nel 1983 da Ronny Moorings, Anke Wolbert e Pieter Nooten. Il nome del gruppo è stato spesso abbreviato in Xymox durante la sua carriera. Di questi membri originali, solo Ronny Moorings rimane oggi nella formazione. Il sound di Clan of Xymox si caratterizza per atmosfere cupe e malinconiche, influenzate dal synth-pop degli anni '80 e dalla musica elettronica sperimentale. Tra i brani più rappresentativi del gruppo ricordiamo "Obscured by Clouds", "Stranger" e "Louise". Il loro album di debutto, "Medusa", pubblicato nel 1985, è considerato un classico del genere darkwave.
