Adrian Borland (6. Dezember 1957 – 20. März 2008) war ein britischer Singer-Songwriter, Musiker und Musikproduzent. Bekannt als Frontmann der Post-Punk-Band The Sound prägte er das Genre in den 1980er Jahren mit seiner Ästhetik und seinem Sound. Borland zeichnete sich durch eingängige Melodien, nachdenkliche Texte und seine kraftvolle Stimme aus. \n\nSeine musikalische Karriere begann 1979 mit The Sound. Die Alben "The Sound of the Sound" (1981) und "From Here to Eternity" (1983) erreichten in Europa moderaten Erfolg. Borland arbeitete auch mit Künstlern wie Siouxsie and the Banshees und The Cure zusammen. Nach der Auflösung von The Sound widmete er sich weiterhin der Musikproduktion und dem Songwriting, bis zu seinem Tod 2008.
