Kenny Rogers (Kenneth Donald Rogers), geboren am 21. August 1938 in Houston, Texas, war ein legendärer amerikanischer Künstler, der vor allem für seine Karriere im Country-Musik bekannt war. Nachdem er in den 1950er Jahren als Rhythm-and-Blues-Sänger begonnen hatte, fand Rogers in den 1960er Jahren mit The First Edition Erfolg und erzielte Hits wie "Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town". 1976 startete er seine Solokarriere und erreichte internationale Bekanntheit mit Alben wie "The Gambler" (1978) und "Share Your Love with Me" (1980).
