The Sisters of Mercy sono un gruppo musicale britannico di genere gothic rock, emersi dalla scena post-punk alla fine degli anni '70. Fondati a Leeds nel 1980 da Andrew Eldritch (voce), il gruppo ha subito diverse formazioni nel corso della sua storia, con Paul Hession (chitarra) e Wayne Hussey (chitarra) tra i membri più longevi. Il loro sound, caratterizzato da atmosfere cupe, melodie sinistre e testi introspettivi, li ha rapidamente catapultati nell'underground goth britannico.
