Christina María Aguilera (New York, 18. Dezember 1980) ist eine amerikanische Sängerin, Songwriterin, Musikproduzentin und Schauspielerin. Sie gilt als eine der beliebtesten und erfolgreichsten Sängerinnen des neuen Jahrtausends. Aguilera zeichnet sich durch ihren kraftvollen und vielseitigen Gesangsstil aus, der von melismatischen Noten geprägt ist. Seit ihrem Debüt hat sie über 50 Millionen Alben verkauft. Ihre musikalische Einflüsse wurden von renommierten Publikationen wie Rolling Stone anerkannt, die sie auf Platz 58 der Liste der 100 besten Sänger aller Zeiten platzierte, und Billboard, das sie zur 20. erfolgreichsten Künstlerin des Jahrzehnts 2000-2010 ernannte. Tochter der Pianistin Shelly Lorraine Fidler und des ecuadorianischen Militärs Fausto Wagner Javier Aguilera begann Christina schon im Alter von acht Jahren, in lokalen Wettbewerben aufzutreten. 1993 war sie mit zwölf Jahren Teil des Casts des Mickey Mouse Club zusammen mit Britney Spears und Justin Timberlake. Ihren internationalen Durchbruch feierte sie 1998 mit dem Song "Reflection", der Soundtrack zum Animationsfilm Mulan war.
