Stars on 45 war ein niederländisches Musikprojekt der Pop-Genre Novelty, das in den frühen 1980er Jahren kurzzeitig große Erfolge im Vereinigten Königreich, ganz Europa und in den Vereinigten Staaten feierte. Später verkürzte die Gruppe ihren Namen in den USA auf Stars On, während sie im Vereinigten Königreich, Irland und Australien als Starsound bekannt waren (In Australien hießen sie tatsächlich Stars on 45). Die Band, bestehend aus Studiomusikern unter der Leitung von Jaap Eggermont, einem ehemaligen Mitglied der Golden Earring, machte sich durch ihre Medleys einen Namen. Sie kreierten Hits so treu wie möglich nach und verbanden sie mit einem gemeinsamen Tempo und einer unermüdlichen Drum-Track. Ziel war es, tanzbare Disco-Platten zu produzieren, die bekannte Melodien verwendeten. Zu ihren bekanntesten Songs gehören "Stars on 45", "The Sound of Music" und "Love Train".
