William Rory Gallagher (1948-1995) è stato un chitarrista, cantante e compositore irlandese considerato uno dei più grandi musicisti rock del suo tempo. Nato a Ballyshannon, in Irlanda, Rory iniziò a suonare la chitarra all'età di 14 anni, influenzato da artisti come Muddy Waters e Eric Clapton. Nel 1967 formò i Taste, un gruppo blues-rock che ottenne grande successo in Europa.
