Robert Wyatt-Ellidge è un musicista britannico nato nel 1947, noto soprattutto come batterista, cantante e compositore. È considerato uno dei pilastri della scena musicale di Canterbury, movimento underground che ha dato vita a una nuova forma di rock progressivo negli anni '60 e '70. Wyatt è entrato nella storia della musica come membro fondatore dei Soft Machine, gruppo con cui ha inciso i primi quattro album (1967-1971), contribuendo a definire il sound sperimentale e jazzistico del progressive rock. Dopo aver lasciato i Soft Machine nel 1971, Wyatt ha formato i Matching Mole, un'altra band di spicco della scena di Canterbury, con cui ha esplorato sonorità più avanguardistiche e psichedeliche.
