The Birthday Party, originariamente noti come The Boys Next Door, sono stati un gruppo post-punk australiano attivo dal 1976 al 1983. Fondati a Melbourne da Nick Cave (voce), Mick Harvey (chitarra), Tracy Pew (basso) e Phill Calvert (batteria), il gruppo ha rapidamente guadagnato popolarità per la sua musica oscura, aggressiva e teatrale.
