Judith Marjorie Collins, bekannt einfach als Judy Collins, ist eine amerikanische Sängerin-Songwriterin und Schauspielerin, geboren 1939 in Seattle, Washington. Sie gilt als eine der einflussreichsten Figuren der amerikanischen Folkmusik und erlangte internationale Bekanntheit für ihre kraftvolle und vielseitige Sopran-Stimme, die von melodischem Gesang bis hin zu Progressive Rock reicht. Ihre Karriere, die in den 1960er Jahren begann, zeichnet sich durch eine umfangreiche Diskografie mit über 30 Studioalben aus. Collins machte sich einen Namen durch ihre Interpretation traditioneller Folk-Songs wie Bob Dylans «Blowin' in the Wind» und durch ihre eigenen Kompositionen, darunter der zeitlose Klassiker «Both Sides Now». Neben der Musik engagiert sich Collins sozial und politisch für Frieden, Bürgerrechte und Umweltschutz.
