Don Dixon è un musicista, produttore discografico e compositore statunitense nato a 1953. Noto per il suo lavoro con artisti come R.E.M., The Smithereens e Los Lobos, Dixon ha contribuito a definire l'indi-rock degli anni '80. Inizia la sua carriera negli anni '70 suonando in band locali prima di trasferirsi a New York nel 1979. Inizia a produrre artisti indipendenti e si guadagna una reputazione per il suo sound caldo e organico. Nel 1983 forma i The Rubinoos, con cui pubblica l'album "The Rubinoos" (1984). Nel corso degli anni '80 produce numerosi album di successo per artisti come R.E.M., The Smithereens e Los Lobos. Tra le sue produzioni più famose si ricordano "Murmur" (1983) dei R.E.M. e "Especially for You" (1986) dei The Smithereens. Dixon continua a produrre musica fino ad oggi, collaborando con artisti di diverse generazioni. Tra i suoi brani più rappresentativi si ricordano "The Rubinoos", "I'm Not Your Man" e "Don't Let Me Down Again".
