Richard Samet Friedman, meglio conosciuto come Kinky Friedman, è stato un cantautore, scrittore, giornalista e politico statunitense. Nato a New York nel 1944, Friedman ha trascorso la sua infanzia in Texas, dove ha sviluppato una passione per la musica country e il western. Ha iniziato la sua carriera musicale negli anni '60, pubblicando album di successo come "Sold Out" (1972) e "The Kinky Friedman Album" (1973).
