Adrian Borland (6 dicembre 1957 – 20 marzo 2008) è stato un cantautore, musicista e produttore discografico britannico. Noto per essere il frontman del gruppo post-punk The Sound, ha contribuito a definire l'estetica e la sonorità di questo genere musicale negli anni '80. Borland si distinse per le sue melodie orecchiabili, testi introspettivi e voce potente. \n\nIl suo percorso musicale iniziò con il gruppo The Sound nel 1979, pubblicando album come "The Sound of the Sound" (1981) e "From Here to Eternity" (1983), che ottennero un discreto successo in Europa. Borland collaborò anche con altri artisti come Siouxsie and the Banshees e The Cure. Dopo lo scioglimento di The Sound, Borland continuò a comporre musica e a lavorare come produttore discografico fino alla sua scomparsa nel 2008. Tra i brani più rappresentativi di Adrian Borland ricordiamo "Sense of Purpose", "The Fall" e "Empty Space".
