Solomon Burke (1940-2010) è stato un leggendario cantante e musicista americano di soul e rhythm and blues. Nato James Solomon McDonald a Fort Smith, Arkansas, ha iniziato la sua carriera musicale all'età di 15 anni, cantando in chiesa e poi in locali notturni del sud degli Stati Uniti.
