Mickey Leroy Gilley (1936-2022) è stato un cantante e musicista country statunitense, noto per aver portato il genere alla popolarità negli anni '70. Nato a Fort Worth, Texas, ha iniziato la sua carriera musicale all'età di 15 anni suonando in locali del suo paese natale. Nel corso degli anni '60, Gilley si è affermato come un artista country di successo, collaborando con artisti come Willie Nelson e Johnny Cash. La sua svolta arrivò nel 1974 con il singolo "She's My Baby", che raggiunse la top ten delle classifiche country. Gilley ha continuato a registrare successi negli anni '70 e '80, diventando un idolo per i fan del genere country. Oltre alla sua carriera musicale, Gilley è stato anche proprietario di un famoso locale notturno a Pasadena, Texas, chiamato "Gilley's", che divenne un punto di riferimento per la musica country e ha ispirato il film "Urban Cowboy" (1980).
