Mr. Bungle ist eine amerikanische experimentelle Rockband, die 1985 in Eureka, Kalifornien, gegründet wurde. Sie gelten als Pioniere der Avantgarde-Metal-Szene; ihr Sound zeichnet sich durch Eklektizismus und die Fusion verschiedener Einflüsse wie Funk, Jazz, Thrash Metal und klassische Musik aus. Die Band besteht aus Mike Patton (Gesang), Trevor Dunn (Bass), Danny Heifetz (Gitarre) und Scott Ian (Schlagzeug). Nach einer Reihe von EPs und Independent-Alben unterzeichnete Mr. Bungle 1995 einen Vertrag mit dem Plattenlabel Warner Bros. Records und veröffentlichte ihr selbstbetiteltes Debütalbum. Das Album wurde von der Kritik positiv aufgenommen und trug dazu bei, die Band einem breiteren Publikum bekannt zu machen. Mr. Bungle löste sich 2000 auf, um sich Soloprojekten zu widmen, kehrte aber 2019 für eine Welttournee zurück und veröffentlichte 2020 das Album „The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny Demo“. Zu den bekanntesten Songs der Band gehören „Quote Unquote“, „Squeeze Me Macaroni“, „Retrovertigo“ und „Anarchy Up Your Ass“.
