Eddie Duchin (1905-1951) è stato un celebre pianista e direttore d'orchestra statunitense, considerato uno dei più influenti musicisti jazz del periodo tra le due guerre mondiali. Nato a New York da una famiglia di origini polacco-ebraiche, Duchin iniziò a studiare musica all'età di sette anni. Dopo aver suonato in diverse orchestre locali, nel 1928 ottenne il suo primo grande successo con la sua orchestra al Cotton Club di Harlem. Nel corso degli anni '30, Duchin divenne una figura popolare grazie alle sue performance radiofoniche e ai suoi successi discografici. La sua musica era caratterizzata da un raffinato stile swing e da arrangiamenti orchestrali innovativi. Tra i brani più famosi di Eddie Duchin figurano "In a Little Spanish Town", "Moonlight Serenade" e "The Continental". Duchin collaborò con numerosi artisti del suo tempo, tra cui Bing Crosby e Frank Sinatra. La sua orchestra fu una delle più popolari degli Stati Uniti durante gli anni '30 e '40, suonando in teatri prestigiosi e partecipando a importanti eventi televisivi.
