Washboard Sam, pseudonimo di Robert Brown (15 luglio 1910 – 6 novembre 1966), è stato un cantante e musicista blues statunitense. Nato a Memphis, Tennessee, Washboard Sam ha iniziato la sua carriera musicale negli anni '30 suonando il washboard e cantando in locali notturni del sud degli Stati Uniti. Il suo stile musicale era caratterizzato da una voce potente e melodie orecchiabili che fondevano elementi di blues classico con influenze country e gospel.
