Club Nouveau è una band di rhythm and blues pop formatasi a Sacramento, California, nel 1986 dal produttore discografico e performer Jay King, dopo lo scioglimento dei Timex Social Club. Altri membri fondatori includevano Denzil Foster, Thomas McElroy, Samuelle Prater e Valerie Watson. Il nome del gruppo (francese per 'Nuovo Club') è stato cambiato dalla sua prima incarnazione, Jet Set, per sfruttare lo scioglimento dei Timex Social Club. La band è stata firmata da Warner Bros. Records, con cui ha pubblicato i suoi primi tre album.
