Biografia

Luigino Celestino Di Agostino, bekannt als Gigi D'Agostino oder Gigi Dag (geboren am 17. Dezember 1967), ist ein italienischer DJ und Musikproduzent. Geboren in Turin bei Eltern aus Salerno, erlangte er in den 1990er Jahren Bekanntheit als einer der Pioniere der italienischen elektronischen Musik, insbesondere des Genres „Mediterranean progressive“, das sich durch minimalistische Klänge, lateinische Melodien und mediterrane Einflüsse auszeichnet. D'Agostino ist auch bekannt für seinen Beitrag zur Entstehung des Phänomens „Lento violento“, eines Techno-Untergenres, das in den 2000er Jahren großen Erfolg feierte. Zu seinen bekanntesten Werken gehören „Bla Bla Bla“, „The Riddle“, „Gigi D'Agostino - Lento Violento“ und „La Passionata“. Sein Debütalbum „L'uomo che amava le donne“ erschien 1998. Gigi D'Agostino hat mit zahlreichen italienischen und internationalen Künstlern zusammengearbeitet und trug zur Verbreitung italienischer elektronischer Musik weltweit bei.
