Die Delgados waren eine schottische Indie-Rock-Band, die 1994 in Motherwell gegründet wurde. Die Band bestand aus Emma Pollock (Gesang, Gitarre), Stuart McAlpine Fidler (Gitarre, Gesang), Alasdair MacLean (Bass) und Paul Harkin (Schlagzeug). In den 1990er Jahren und frühen 2000er Jahren erlangten sie Bekanntheit mit einem Sound, der durch eingängige Melodien, nachdenkliche Texte und raffinierte Arrangements gekennzeichnet war. Ihr Debütalbum "The Great Eastern" erschien 1997 und markierte den Beginn einer Karriere, die von kritisch gefeierten Alben wie "Since When" (2000) und "Hate and Love" (2002) geprägt war.
