Iron Butterfly è una rock band americana formatasi nel 1965. Conosciuta soprattutto per il brano epico di 17 minuti "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida", presente nell'album omonimo del 1968, la band si affermò come uno dei pionieri del rock psichedelico. Il successo dell'album fu enorme, vendendo milioni di copie, ma Iron Butterfly non riuscì a replicare questo risultato con i successivi album. La storia della band è segnata da continui scioglimenti, riforme e cambiamenti di formazione. L'attuale incarnazione del gruppo continua a esibirsi dal vivo e si vocifera che stia lavorando a un nuovo album.
